Una adaptación de la antipastorela ‘Jesús, María y José José, del autor mexicano Humberto Robles. Dirigida por Elisa González, la puesta en escena cuenta con las actuaciones de Leonardo Abreu, Aldo Tejera y la propia González, quienes encarnan al Arcángel Gabriel, José y María, respectivamente. Esta comedia musical comienza con la aparición de un excéntrico ángel, quien llega para anunciarle a María que un Dios vengativo va a inseminarla para que de ella nazca el redentor del mundo. Fama y fortuna le promete el ángel a esta mujer que vive en la mayor de las pobrezas, una tentadora oferta que María no podrá rechazar y que tendrá serias consecuencias, al no leer las letras pequeñas del contrato. José, el marido de María, al enterarse del estado de su mujer, quiere abandonarla por adúltera, al no creer que se le apareció un ángel para revelarle que será la madre de Dios. A través de divertidos números musicales, el Arcángel Gabriel les explica el “plan divino” para el futuro Mesías. Finalmente descubriremos si María y José siguen adelante con el contrato o si deciden hacer uso del libre albedrío renunciando a la gloria eterna. La directora y autora de la adaptación para Canarias, Elisa González, explica que la obra hace una fuerte crítica a la religión, además de tratar satíricamente temas como la sexualidad y el aborto. Al mismo tiempo invita al público canario a disfrutar de este osado belén, que con textos bien cuidados cuestiona muchos de los cánones establecidos en la sociedad occidental.
