Julien Elsie is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in southwest Spain. His career began at just 16, performing in several bands before founding seminal acts such as The Animal Crackers and Big Black Mariah. In 2007, he started releasing music under his own name, establishing a distinctive voice and artistic identity. To date, he has released six critically acclaimed albums. His music sits at the crossroads of alternative country, dark folk, and timeless singer-songwriter traditions. It’s an expressionist form of rock with american overtones and cinematic qualities—music that conjures powerful imagery in the listener’s imagination.
