Professional improviser Vincent Van Nieuwenhuyze (Ghent, Belgium) is visiting Málaga, and you have the unique opportunity to have a workshop with him.

*If you are a Spanish speaker*: We will have someone translating to Spanish, and you can do the exercises and scenes in Spanish if you need it. 

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Name: "Embody the scene"

Level: Intermediate (some previous experience in improv is required).

Description: As improvisers, we have nothing to assist us on stage but our own bodies and mind. Whilst we have the verbal, emotional and intrapersonal skills down, we tend to forget and sometimes underestimate the power of the physical aspect on stage. 

The audience listens attentively to what we say, but they also watch us like hawks in what we do. Why not give them what they want? Creating objects out of thin air can be challenging but lifts a scene to a whole new level and gets the audience more invested in what you say.

Join us to explore the world of mime and physicality, creating objects and other elements of physical creation on the scene.

11th of May (Saturday), from 11:00 to 14:00 (3 hours in total).

ABOUT THE TEACHER:

Vincent is a professional improv teacher, player and coach from Ghent, Belgium. He has performed in over 8 troupes for over 12 years and has been teaching improv in Belgium and on the international improv circuit for over 7 years.

Some key elements to what Vincent brings to the scene are intimacy, warmth, safety, vocals and tons of energy to surf on. Furthermore, he was recently selected to represent Belgium in the Improv European Masters Tournament happening in April/May 2024.

OTHER INFOS:

A 10% of the proceeds of the workshop go to a local charity for the homeless (more info in Mylaga.org).

Besides, we have a "social pricing system" that allows you to pay less if you are struggling financially and can't afford more, and more if you are abundant and want to contribute to the system. IMPORTANT: This system is to allow people of all walks of life to be able to join.
