El día a día nos plantea dilemas. ¿Uno o dos terrones de azúcar? La ducha, ¿antes de dormir o de madrugada? En el ascensor, ¿iniciar una conversación con el vecino o sobrevivir al silencio? Decisión tras decisión, vamos haciendo, nos vamos haciendo, casi sin pensarlo porque, elegimos lo que elegimos, la vida continúa. Son dilemas asequibles. Sin embargo, por suerte o por desgracia, a veces nos enfrentamos a dilemas que darán la vuelta nuestra existencia para siempre.

Esto es lo que les pasa a un matrimonio de clase media con problemas económicos – Héctor y Paula – cuando Toni, uno de sus mejores amigos, les plantea el test de personalidad que ha elaborado Berta , su actual compañera, una psicóloga muy exitosa y mediática. La pregunta es la siguiente: ¿qué prefieren, cien mil euros ahora mismo, o un millón de aquí a diez años? Así de simple, así de difícil.

La decisión que debe tomar nuestro matrimonio parece muy sencilla: conformarse con una pequeña fortuna en el instante, o esperar diez interminables años para ganar diez veces más. Lo que empieza siendo un supuesto teórico, un simple test de personalidad, irá poco a poco despojando las personalidades y los secretos más profundos de nuestros personajes, los obligará a poner precio a sus principios y, finalmente, los empujará a tomar una decisión que los cambiará la vida. Quién sabe si para siempre.
