Animal es un trabajo coreográfico para cinco intérpretes, que se presenta en una atmósfera onírica, para hablar de la necesidad y el deseo, un discurrir de cuadros y escenas superpuestas de las respuestas físicas  emocionales, de las situaciones límites y el instinto en el lado más cotidiano de los días.

El trabajo sin un hilo argumental clásico, muestra un recorrido de imágenes de lucha, de necesidad, de descanso, de amor, de secuestros emocionales. Acciones ligadas a la idea de la animalidad y la supervivencia.

La mezcla de danza y acción propias del estilo de la compañía, así como los textos de Marina Wainer, se entremezclan y viajan para  sugerir  escenas del mundo impulsivo, qué nos mueve hacia las cosas o las situaciones.

La Cía. Daniel Abreu, nace en el año 2004, presentando hasta la fecha  más de  cuarenta trabajos coreográficos.

Daniel Abreu, director y creador de estos trabajos ha cosechado varios premios siendo el último PREMIO NACIONAL DE DANZA 2014, junto como un reconocimiento que le ha llevado a estar  presente en la programación de varios teatros y festivales nacionales e internacionales.

Los trabajos de la compañía se presentan como viajes, cuadros e imágenes en acción, estando algunas de las producciones a mitad de camino entre la danza y la acción.


Este trabajo que aquí presentamos titulado ANIMAL está coproducido por el Mercat de Les Flors y el Auditorio de Tenerife, con el apoyo del proyecto europeo Modul Dance, al que se suman la colaboración del Plezna Izba de Maribor (Eslovenia) y el Station Zuid de Tilburg (Holanda).

Ha sido presentado en importantes festivales de España, Francia, Holanda, Alemania, Croacia, Eslovenia,  Italia, Polonia, Brasil y Corea del Sur, entre los que destaca June Events (Paris), Romaeuropa (Roma), MODAFE (Seúl), Novadança (Brasil), Madrid en Danza (Madrid) y muchos otros.
