Sarramangu & Oldwheels Barcelona

Sarramangu was born in Molins de Rei in July 2010, with the intention of spending some good times and to give shape to a series of compositions by Pep Fernández and Nacho Carrasco that had been accumulating in the cove over the years. In this beginning Roger Martín as drummer and Víctor Sánchez as lead guitarist joined the project. In 2015, with Gerard Capdevila on bass, we recorded our first album, an EP of 7 songs that summarized this first stage, explaining with a carefree touch a collection of everyday stories in folk and pop key, influenced by classics of the 60s and 70s or Brit-pop of the 90s, but from Molins de Rei and in Catalan. After spending that project on the stages for a year, the band was dissolved to give birth to different personal projects. Now, almost a decade later, we are back! And we do it with new songs, with a new musical proposal, more electric and forceful, and with a new formation. Pep Fernández and Víctor Sánchez have been joined by Víctor Salinas on bass and Carles Roca on drums. The new songs, in which the clear influences of British and North American classics of the twentieth century continue to be perceived, have, on this occasion, a more fierce and critical tone than in the past, and perhaps also more intimate. They speak of the passing of time, of nostalgia, of falls, of griefs, of redemptions and sometimes of resignation, with more raw and harsh sonorities, closer to rock, but without leaving aside the taste for melodies that has always characterized Pep's compositions.
